Whether it’s divine intervention, or merely the will of a warrior woman, Levent continues to re-make her life into something amazingly wonderful.
The Woman Warrior.
Despite the awful things this inspirational mother of two has experienced, Tammy’s story is not a tragedy. She has rebounded from child abuse, depression, homelessness, and a massive fire that destroyed all she owned. An armed assault destroyed her marriage, leaving her with a brain-damaged husband, mountains of debt and bankruptcy. She then lost her grandmother in a car crash that severely injured her children. To top it off, Tammy battled cancer and survived a surgery-gone-wrong…and this is the abridged version.
Whether it’s divine intervention, or merely the will of a warrior woman, Levent continues to re-make her life into something amazingly wonderful.
“When you have so many tragic events happen in your life, you either crumble or take what you have left and you live in the present. If you stop looking back you only have one option left: looking forward…”
…says Levent whose tragic past became a powerful driving force that thrust her into a fast-paced life of achievement. At the age of 17, she became a founding partner of 7 Islands Shipping, which went on to become a top US export company in the ’80s and ‘90s. This was just the first of many strategic partnerships Levent went on to create, supporting her lifelong philosophy of self-determination and successful entrepreneurship.
Since then, Levent has built several national, award-winning, multi-million dollar businesses, primarily in the travel industry. Today, Levent travels the world sharing her inspiring story, proving with the right mindset, anyone can achieve anything. When she’s not reaching large audiences with her energetic and humorously motivating messages, she is working on her nonprofit It’s My Bag, an organization that donates suitcases to children in foster care. Levent’s incredible story of survival and recovery is documented in the book Sink or Swim.
