New Initiative Brings Small Businesses & Consumers Together

The Paper Plate Project® - A Goodwill Campaign to Strengthen Local Economy.

The internet was once the great equalizer that brought consumers and business together. It was a platform on which all companies had the same voice of significance regardless of their marketing budget. But today, digital marketing has changed the dynamic. Social media still brings brands and buyers together, however just like in years past, the companies with the largest marketing budgets are the ones that get the exposure. Most small businesses don’t have the money, time or resources to successfully compete in the marketplace.

Social media still brings brands and buyers together, however just like in years past, the companies with the largest marketing budgets are the ones that get the exposure. Most small businesses don’t have the money, time or resources to successfully compete in the marketplace.

But a new initiative has launched to empower small businesses and level the playing field once again.

The Paper Plate Project® is a not-for-profit, goodwill campaign by OneMovement® that is strengthening the economy by incentivizing the support of local business.

This heartening initiative is a social-economic solution for those that believe small business success is important to the success of our economy.

“A strong local economy is built on relationships, loyalty, engagement, and integrity. And despite what you may believe – you have total control over it…”

…says project founder Lewis S Lewis, a small business owner who believes in the power of one man’s voice to create big changes that serve the betterment of us all.

HERE’S HOW THE “PPP” WORKS:

Businesses display an official Paper Plate Project (PPP) plate in their window to let consumers know they are a local business that supports them and the local community.

The paper plate itself stands for what small businesses bring to the table. It’s a symbol of a businesses’ integrity, work ethic, and it is a sign of mutual respect between brand and buyer. When displayed, it serves as a constant reminder of what consumers and businesses are capable of accomplishing together. To become an official Paper Plate Project supporter, businesses can list their name on the PPP website. This enters them into a social contract that they are committed to working hard for the customer and supporting the community.

In addition to the altruistic message, the plate is also a way for small businesses to alert customers that there is a deal, a sale, or a special offer. The Paper Plate Project removes the middleman of traditional advertising and people are incentivized to engage in their communities.

“The purpose is not to necessarily get the cheapest deal in town (though PPP businesses often DO have the best deals in town) ..the purpose is to better the community by incentivizing customers to shop local and put money back into their local economy,” says Lewis.
